The 96th Academy Awards are just a few weeks away and the debate amongst cinephiles for best picture centers around two movies that couldn’t be more different than, well… a plastic doll and a physicist. The sobering and compelling Oppenheimer racked up 13 nominations, while the pink and sometimes thought-provoking Barbie earned eight. Together, the two movies brought in 88% of total box office receipts amongst all best picture nominees. It’s turning out to be quite the Barbenheimer matchup!
