In 2017, the U.S. government hauled in $3.32 trillion dollars in income taxes. Those kind of numbers can make your head swim. Even more astounding, however, is this little data nugget: only 51 percent of Americans say that the amount of federal income tax they paid in 2017 was too high. Obviously, they didn’t survey me.

With nearly half the U.S. taxpayers all too happy to hand over their hard earned money to the federal government, it’s only fitting to post this friendly PSMailers reminder checklist on how to gear up for the new tax season:

 Are you ready to meet the looming W2 tax forms mailing deadline?

 Is the PSMailers machine tuned up?

 Are you stocked up on the right forms?

 Do you have the right fold design(s)?

 Have you conducted a test run before running an entire batch?

If you can’t answer “yes” to all of the above questions, we’ve got your back. Our top-notch Customer Service and Tech Team is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST to answer all of your questions and help you resolve any issues you might be experiencing. Our team of experts know PSMailers systems inside and out, and can have you up and running in no time.

The season for "boos!" and W-2s

I have been told I have a face for blogging. But there are far more frightening things you could encounter in your lifetime. For example, I am reminded of something a wise person once said: “The most terrifying words in the English language are: I'm from the government and I'm here to help.”  But fear not, PSMailers Blog Guy fans (no applause, please) – I am most decidedly NOT from the government, but I AM here to help.

Since we’re on the subject of the government, I am compelled to share my knowledge and wisdom about a timely topic: the all-important W-2 tax form used by taxpayers to file federal and state tax returns each year.  According to turbotax.intuit.com, the IRS requires employers to report wage and salary information for employees on Form W-2.This form also reports the amount of federal, state and other taxes withheld from an employee’s paycheck. The IRS requires employers to send employees a W-2 no later than January 31 following the close of the tax year, which is usually December 31.

Although we’ve just entered the hallowed season, that deadline is eerily close. Regardless of the PSM model you operate, the number of forms you process, or the folding style you choose, PSMailers make a necessary job essentially easier. Printed, folded, sealed and mailed to employees in no time. Contact your sales rep at 800.464.5030 or http://www.psmailers.com/contact-us/sales-form/ to find the right machine to match your form and your needs.

A few things to remember as you prepare for the season, first understand your fold. Selecting a style and ordering early will ensure plenty of time to get set up right http://www.psmailers.com/documents/styles/ Next match the fold to the machine, all models are designed to run various standard fold forms although some folds may not be compatible with the PSM1800 or 6500. Last but not least is to test run. You never know if you might need to make adjustments.

That, my friends, leaves you nothing to fear but a band of sugar-crazed trick-or-treaters at your front door after you just handed out the last candy bar. (And if you see someone in a PSMailers Guy mask, run…it’s NOT me.)
