To bot or not to bot? Trends in Customer Service

When unlikely film stars R2D2 and C3PO hit the big screen in 1977, they not only laid the groundwork for sci-fi fan geekdom the likes of which the world hadn’t seen since The Beatles played Shea Stadium – but these futuristic Tin Men also introduced modern society to the concept of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Machines processing and providing information much like humans, only faster, smarter and, dare we say, with more personality and humor. Great technological and computing advancements have been made since we discovered AI in a galaxy far, far away; and these two steampunk prototypes have been replaced by female voice-enabled interfaces such as Siri and Alexa, now ever-present in smart phones and homes around the world.

As AI becomes integrated into nearly every facet of personal and business realms, Customer Service is no exception. AI can, and will in some businesses, eventually replace human CSRs. But for now, AI serves as an IA (Intelligent Assistant) to CSRs, helping to enhance the personal customer service experience.

Which brings us to PSMailers Customer Service. (“Finally, PSMailers Guy!” you must be thinking.) In keeping with the acronym theme of this blog, I would characterize our Customer Support representatives as PSMIA (PSMailers Intelligence Assistants). Highly trained experts on the entire PSMailers line, functions and features (and not one bit – or bot – artificial, I might add). When you call the dedicated toll-free line (800-464-5030), Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST, you will reach a living, breathing PSMailers customer service representative ready and able to provide personal assistance with installation, troubleshooting, and product information, and more.

So whenever you feel the dark side of AI upon you, simply remember these (paraphrased) words of the wise and wonderful Yoda, “May the force of the PSMI be with you.”

I am the Walrus, and other timely reminders

TAXWALRUS

Okay, I’ll admit it. I am not really the Walrus…that was a cheap ploy to get your attention (and to work another Beatles reference into this blog). But now that I have your attention, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that required tax documents are due in the mail by January 31st. If you’re like me, you work best under a deadline. So those PSMailers should be humming along as we speak. Remember to select the right fold design for your machine and do a test run before you process a complete batch. (See last month’s blog for more tips and clever Beatles puns).

As you tackle this tax time task, you will find it reassuring to know that our Customer Service and Tech Team (the best in the business, by the way) is available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST to answer all of your questions and help you resolve any issues you might be experiencing. Our team of experts know PSMailers systems inside and out, and can have you up and running in no time.

In addition to our Customer Service support, you can obtain a wealth of additional information here on PSMailers, or reach out to our Customer Support Team at 800.464.5080. Free and easy….which is more than you can say about the new tax code.

The Taxman Cometh

Posted by PSMailers Guy on Wed, Dec 17, 2014 @ 15:12 PM

TAXMAN

If you drive a car
I'll tax the street
If you try to sit,
I'll tax your seat
If you get too cold
I'll tax the heat
If you take a walk
I'll tax your feet

Lyrics from “Taxman” by the Beatles, 1966

Clearly, the Fab Four understood a thing or two about the pervasiveness of punitive taxes. As the story goes, George Harrison penned the lyrics in anger after discovering just how much of his newfound wealth was going to the government. As a “super group,” the Beatles’ earnings put them in the 95% “supertax” bracket in the U.K. at the time! (Ironically, the success of this song kept them in that bracket for years to come.)

Although I gave up my mop top haircut and Nehru jacket decades ago, I can tell you that we understand a thing or two about tax time, too. Built for speed and efficiency, our PSMailers systems are ready and able to face head-on the annual New Year task of preparing mandatory tax documents such as W-2s and 1099s. The question is, are YOU?

Here are a few tips to help ensure that the process goes as smoothly as a Beatles ballad:

  • Know your fold – PSMailers documents are available in a variety of fold configurations, including C fold, Z fold, V fold, EZ fold, EC fold, and ZX fold. Selecting a style and ordering early will ensure plenty of time to get set up right.
  • Match the fold to the machine – Most PSMailers systems have a sliding bar that allows for adjustments to run a custom fold; however some models feature a fixed bar that snaps into place which will only run standard fold forms. Note: PSM1800 cannot run a 14” C or EC fold.
  • Testing, one, two – Before it becomes crunch time, it’s always a good idea to test run forms on the system, leaving plenty of time for fine tune adjustments.

As they say, the only certainties in life are death and taxes. I’d like to think there is a more cheerful third certainty: the reliability and performance of PSMailers.  And while they won’t pay your taxes for you, PSMailers equipment and suitable documents can certainly make tax time that much easier. I’m willing to bet the Beatles would agree.

Can we talk?

Posted by PSMailers Guy on Fri, Sep 26, 2014 @ 10:09 AM

PSMRockStarz

They say talk is cheap, but I happen to find a great deal of value in talking. For example, we can discuss the highs and humiliating lows of your fantasy football team, the new app you downloaded on your phone, or the even latest TV series you’ve been binge-watching on Netflix.

But let’s talk PSMailers today. Literally. Customers rely on their pressure seal systems every day to streamline the time-consuming process of fulfilling payroll, accounting, billing, direct mail, and more. To keep that system humming along, our Customer Service and Tech Support Team is available by phone Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm EST at 800-464-5030 to answer customer inquiries. That’s right, your customers will be able to speak to a living breathing Customer Service rep thoroughly trained in the complete line of PSMailers hardware, and documents. They know the systems top to bottom and answer every question with a smile in their voice.

When a customer orders a new PS Mailer system, that’s when we really shine. Once the product is delivered, a Tech Support representative provides the customer with a step-by-step phone install set-up of the entire system. We won’t hang up until the system is fully operational and all questions are answered. That’s worth talking about.

We think we’re pretty great, but recently Kelly P., a customer in San Diego, CA, hailed our reps as “rock stars” for the superior service provided over the years. Our fans agree that same distinction goes to PSMailers – the most productive self-sealer on the market today.

So let’s keep talking. It’s good for the soul and PSMailers!
